One in eight women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, with the risk increasing with age. Early detection and treatment provides the best outcome for women, but accurately detecting and diagnosing breast cancer remains a significant challenge against the backdrop of a radiology workforce crisis.

In September 2020 the UK Government announced the winners of its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health and Care Awards, part of the work within the National AI Lab. The project that's being delivered by Kheiron will accelerate the roll out and rapid adoption of Mia (Mammography Intelligent Assessment) to address critical workforce challenges in NHS breast screening services in the UK.

This webinar presents attendees with an opportunity to discuss research which shows that artificial intelligence could be as effective as human radiologists in spotting breast cancer from X-ray images, and find out more from the national leads at NHSE/I and NHSx backing the project and clinicians helping to run the research.
